The Gransfors Bruk 439 Splitting Hatchet is a compact Gransfors Bruk Splitting Axe designed for preparing kindling and smaller firewood. Swedish craftsmen hand-forge its head from recycled high-carbon steel. As a result, it combines traditional craftsmanship with a practical design for everyday wood splitting.

Its thin, concave cutting edge enters the wood easily. Meanwhile, the broader axe head pushes the wood apart for efficient splitting. The 48 cm hickory handle supports one- or two-handed use, offering flexibility when working at home or at a cabin. Additionally, a protective steel collar beneath the head helps protect the handle from accidental overstrikes.
